May Lin DeHaan joined the firm in August 2008, as an experienced patent prosecution and trademark prosecution attorney. Ms. DeHaan is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO). She works in the firm's intellectual property department.

Representative Accomplishments:

* Written and prosecuted numerous patent applications in the semiconductor, chemical, mechanical, electromechanical, consumer electronics, biomedical, optic, and communication arts.

* Inducted as a member of Sigma Gamma Tau Aerospace Engineering Honor Society in 1983 and was honored with the American Jurisprudence Award in Legal Research and Writing in 1991

Background:

May Lin received her bachelor of science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, in 1985 and her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, in 1994.

Prior to joining Sinsheimer Juhnke Lebens & McIvor, Ms. DeHaan served for four years as an aerospace engineer for Rockwell International, Inc., in the Aircraft Structures Department of the North American Aircraft Operations Division, developing structural optimization computer programs for conceptual aircraft design. She also served as an aerospace materials scientist for over thirteen years in the Materials Science Department of the Rockwell International Science Center, a corporate research facility, where she researched and developed structural, conducting, and electro-optical polymers for high-emissivity coatings for low-reflection applications and high temperature ceramics for reusable aerospace vehicles.

May Lin resides in Pismo Beach, California.
